The answer is: Hell yes.
Not consistently of course. Sometimes you may encounter nearly empty busses or attractive girls with an open seat next to them, but these times are uncommon!
People on the CTA are normally extremely unfriendly. Call it Urban-Chicago culture, whatever. There are exceptions! Riding the Clark bus during drinking-nights around Wrigleyville is always a blast. Also, you may be propositioned for sex occasionally depending on your location. The CTA is fun for all ages!
